Pablo piccaso

Pablo Picasso
Pablo Picasso was born om the 25th of October 1881 in Malaga, Spain. He sadly died at the age of 91 On the 8th of April 1973 in Mougins, France. He is known to the world as one of the greatest painters who ever lived. His work is mainly Cubist paintings and sculptures made from.
This painting is probably my favourite Picasso because it is the first  piece of his work I actually went into detail on and researched. If I was to copy this painting I would find it quite hard. Not only because of the use of abstract blended colours it is also because I do not understand the rules or qualities of the Cubist style of art. From my first glance of the piece I thought I was looking at a man drinking, but after being told what the image is really I can see it clearly.
The main reason that I am looking at Pablo Picasso  is because of his contribution towards the Art Movement known as Cubism.

At the moment as a class we are resaeching on Cubism so we can grasp a better understanding of it so we can integrate are own work with it. Picasso's style of Cubism is a little different from the one we used and different from the original style of Cubism which he he gathered from african art .
Picasso's stlye shared the same concept of cubism which was to create an image that showed different view points of the human form. His style is different from the that we used.

David Carson

David Carson  was born on the 8th of September in1954. He is known as someone who broke the rules of typography. His work is based on how if something is not legible it can still communicate and still be understood.. He is well known for his  magazine designs, and posters.  He was the art director for the magazine Ray Gun.

Looking at this piece of his work I can see that it has his specific style of graphics. He has a mix of edited letters to make up his background. The message which I think he is trying to get across in this image what is exactly is in the title. His work has broken the mold for what is legible what what isn't.I think that as long as his art has a meaning it is legible even if the words aren't.
This particular image was one of the few used to describe his interview where he is described as 'The King of Typography'. The  subject of the image being that with the help of technology he has been given a new way to communicate his ideas and make his work.

I quite like this piece of his work not only because of the way that he final piece came out, but because I can think of how he was able to produce something like this. Even though that most of the words in this aren't legible, the message is very clear. He is boasting the fact that he was one of the first people who broke the rules of type and was successful.

This is propbrably on of my favorite peices of his work because of the many use of enlargment and colour. By using these techniques anyone can make there work look like his. I think that this specific piece is advertising.
